Maintenance Technician
The TownePlace Suites Kansas City Airport is currently looking for hardworking, energetic and passionate people to join our team in the role of Maintenance Technician. This is a Full-Time opportunity with weekend availability preferred. The salary range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00 per hour based on previous work experience.

Job Summary:
The purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure that all preventative maintenance and/or repair measures are taken to keep the hotel and hotel systems in excellent working order.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all necessary repairs, service and adjustments are completed during the PM inspection
- Performs required repair or service when work requests are initiated by a Hotel Guest or Hotel Staff/Associate member
- Inform the Hotel guest or Hotel Staff/associate member when maintenance repair is completed
- Participate in posting all maintenance logs and records
- Conduct a daily tour/inspection of the Hotel grounds and interior for damage, unsafe conditions, general cleanliness and replace light bulbs as required
- Assist in the maintenance procedures required to maintain a safe and comfortable pool and spa
- Conduct daily inspections, adjustments and post required logs of all kitchen refrigerators and freezers
- Participate in snow removal from sidewalks and handicap parking spaces
- Assist in the preventative maintenance of the equipment or system in the following areas: kitchen, laundry room, water heater room, pool and spa enclosure, exercise room, guest laundry room, interior emergency lights and signs, HVAC and PTAC, phone room, front and back offices, meeting room and dining area
Required Skills:
- Must be able to read and write in the prevalent language spoken by the guests, interpret and apply instructions contained in technical publications
- Knowledge of and proficient in the use and care of all hand and power tools
- Good mechanical maintenance skills
- Basic carpentry skills to include painting and varnishing, vinyl wall covering repair and replacement, sheet rock repair and replacement and wall texturing
- Basic plumbing skills
- Basic electrical skills
- Some experience with HVAC and PTAC equipment
- Basic hydraulics system knowledge
- Experience replacing seals, bearings, pulleys and drive belts
- Experience replacing/repairing carpet, ceramic tile, grout and caulking
- Pool and spa maintenance experience
- Basic grounds maintenance knowledge
- Must know how to obtain outside Technical assistance when necessary
- Familiarity with OSHA/EPA and FEMA standards (Preferred)
- Familiar with building fire sprinkler systems
